How do I replace a broken drivers side seat back tension spring on a 2000 ford contour with manual seats. (Its the spring that pushes the seat back forward when you adjust it)

NOTE: Use hog ring pliers to close the hog rings. Do not use pliers. The hog rings should be closed to overlap 8 mm, to make sure the cover is properly retained and holds its shape.
Reply to autodoc_2000's Post: What I really needed to know was how to remove the coil spring at the base of the seat that keeps it from falling back when you adjust the seat back. It has broken, and I have been told its not something that can be replaced, that the entire seat back must be replaced not just the spring. Is it possible to take it apart just to replace the spring, and if so how do I do it? Thanks.
It may be possible to replace, but you cannot buy the spring seperatley from the seat back. If you got a used one you may as weel buy the whole seat to install. The spring is under great tension and would be very difficult to get under the same tension as the original one.
