Sounds like you need to replace the cam sensor and unplug the battery for 15 minutes and drive and see if any codes come back. Do you know where the cam sensor is at?

Thanks

They didn't make a 2.8 v-6.

Is this a 1998 Ford Econoline van? With possibly a 4.2 liter V-6?

Thanks

Well if this is the only code you have, it probably is a bad cam sensor and/or syncronizer.

This is located at the front of the engine near the egr valve. It goes where the old distributor would have gone, just above the waterpump. Here's a picture of the whole thing.

Thanks
