Gear selector error" is being displayed on the message

Customer Question

gear selector error" is being displayed on the message screen and then car stalls
JA: Is the check engine light on? Does the car stall at idle or when driving?
Customer: no lights on except when the error message shows up, stalls when driving. It also is taking a few times to get it to start. I did notice this weekend there was a traction control check light that came on a few times and went off but hasn't came back on.
JA: What is the model/year of your Lincoln?
Customer: 2002 V8 LS
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I have read it could be just a low battery causing it to throw the code, a loose connector, or the PCM is going out
JA: OK. To minimize me, please click the down arrow at the top right corner of this box.
Customer: any suggestions?
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Not that I can think of.

The only way to get the codes off the Lincoln is to have it put on the analysis machine. The part store machines do not pick up the codes.
Customer: replied 2 months ago.
It was the relay switches, throwing the PCM offline, which resulted in the error message.

Glad you got it resolved.
