none of the steering wheel controls are working. I put a new clock spring in it,still not working. now what?
JA: How has the car been driving lately?
Customer: yes she drives it dayly
JA: What is the model/year of your Lincoln?
Customer: 01 navigator
JA: Are you fixing your Navigator yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: yes, I got a nother clock spring,put have not put it in yet. when you put a ground to the ground wire the horn works put when you turn the switch to on it does not.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: no

Yes, I have been here for several hours now.

Go to the cruise control servo under the hood and unplug it. Then ground pin#6, the DARK GREEN/ORANGE striped wire and see if the horn works.

that worked. So now what?

The switches are grounded through the servo for the cruise control. Replace the servo to repair the problem.
