97 Lincoln Town Car - Power Windows Issue All windows

Customer Question

Hello, 97 Lincoln Town Car - Power Windows Issue
All windows stopped working. Fuses were checked, a new driver's door switch purchased & installed with no change. There's voltage at each power window switch & each changes voltage when the each switch is moved in either direction. Yet windows do not move. Also checked the "Windows Lock" switch seems to be functioning properly. What am I missing? Thanks

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Well, I dont think so. Please describe, thx.
Expert:  roybelding replied 11 months ago.
the windows work by the power and ground changing direction. you said you checked for this voltage check. how did you check it. where were the leads??? Roy
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Black lead on what I thought was ground which remained and placed red lead at different points on the switch connector (jpeg attached). meter =14volts
Expert:  roybelding replied 11 months ago.
ok, this is how you check it. find the 2 wires that go to the motor. black lead in one end and red in the other. activate the switch. it should show 12 volts in one direction. then switch the leads and re test. that will tell you if the switch is working correctly. Roy
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
the meter displayed 0 volts when i did the wrong procedure
