I believe you may be dealing with a dead battery or weak battery here.

It is also possible there is a problem with a blown fuse for the brake lights or the shifter linkage may have broken. If this happens the car doesn't know its in park, the engine won't crank when this happens.

I would first check the brake lights and make sure they work. If they do, then I would try a jump start. Finally if a jump start doesn't work, the shift linkage is going to need to be looked at.
