I have an 03 Lincoln LS 3.9. I have put on a straight dual exhaust, no converters or resonators, a comp chip, and cold air intake.. the car runs great but has a become a dog out of the hole..??

Hello! Welcome to justanswer! This chip, where does it go?
Its tied into the harness that plugs into the mass air flow sensor.
Relist: Other.no answer at all
Sorry for the delay....Take out the chip in the harness to the airflow sensor. How does it run now?
I'll try that after work and let you know!!
Please do and let me know what happens. Sorry for my delayed responses. Later on Ill be on most of the time.
Hi.. I disconnected the chip from the harness and disconnected the battery and let the vehicle sit for a few hours to reset computer. The car does seem to be a little better. Do you think putting an x pipe or something on the exhaust would help also.
Relist: Answer came too late.
Do you still need help?
Not sure.. I replied to you that I disconnected the chip from the harness and car did run a little better...I was just want to know if you think an x pipe or something on the exhaust would help more..I added the chip, exhaust and air intake all at the same time. The exhaust had cats up front which are still on the car, one big cat mid way, two resionators and two mufflers. There now is only the two small cats off the manifold and two mufflers..
Ok, do you have a check engine light after removing the chip?
No
Ok, so the exhaust is just two straight pipes going to the back with no X or H pipe?
Correct... I did put some non-foulers where the 02 sensors screw in to move them a little out of stream to keep the check engine light off.
Is it backfiring and popping out of the exhaust when you rev it or slow down? Also what size pipes did you use?
No...whatever factory size is..2 1/2 I think.
So without the chip, does it have more torque now or was it faster before you touched it at all?
It has more torque now, but it was faster before..
Ok, you need at minimum an X pipe or H pipe. The computer is tuned for the exhaust to meet at a certain place. When doing an X pipe be sure both pipes going to the manifolds are the exact same length from the X to the engines manifolds or it wont work right. This will bring the power up and let it run better. Also some type of mufflers should be in the back. If you like loud, then weld in single chamber Flowmasters. They create just enough back pressure to make it run right but still flow like you have no mufflers.
