I am adjusting the shift cable on my 2005 lincoln navigator and I can't figure out how to take the top half of the steering column cover off without snapping it.
Hello my name isXXXXX here is the column cover removal, any more questions just ask, thanks Steve W
If you are adjusting the shift cable, it is adjusted from under the vehicle, if you are adjusting the PRNDL indicator, then yes, there is a thumb wheel under these covers.

Where do I adjust it from below? I looked at the manual that I have and it said to adjust hang a three pound weight from the cable and adjust the thumb screw at the top of the steering column.
Ok, yes that is correct of you are adjusting the PRNDL indicator, remove the column covers and turn the thumb wheel, if the shifter cable that runs the transmission needs adjusted, it needs to be adjusted at the transmission. Here are both repair instructions from the service manual, any more questions just ask, thanks Steve W
