Hello and Thank you for choosing Just Answer. My name is XXXXX XXXXX I will be the Lincoln Expert assisting you today.

This is a common issue with the Lincoln MKZ and it leads to a faulty shifter assembly not allowing the shifter to fully seat in the park position to release the lock which then allows the key to be removed. I would try to force the shifter as far foreword as you can and try and remove the key at the same time.
