Purchased a new unit above mine in a 7 store condo, having issues with getting contractors that seem even the slightest bit reasonable in regards ***** ***** Does a wealthy zip code mean you get ripped off? Need some suggestions on what my fiance and I
can do to turn this renovation into something more affordable.

Response 1: No, it does not. However, this is capitalism. The contractors would only set a price that they think they can get away with it, that the market would bear. If no one hires them at that price, they would come down--law of supply and demand.
Need some suggestions on what my fiance and I
can do to turn this renovation into something more affordable.

Response 2: Generally, the way to go would be to get referrals from other businesses.
