Hi, thank you for contacting JustAnswer.com. My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question. The solution that you should try first, is that the belt needs readjusting, and lubrication (with the special, non-grease, lubricant these treadmill belts generally require.)The belt should be adjusted, generally speaking, so that it is loose enough that it does not quite slip, but nearly that loose. If the belt is adjusted (or, has shrunk up with age, and lack of lubricant...) too tightly, then it can stop the treadmill from working or running. An over-tight treadmill belt can cause wear, or even damage, in many other ways, such as by overheating the motor. Otherwise, you need to check power source, and power cord - at both ends, and along the entire length - and make sure that power is indeed getting to the treadmill. Also trying a different outlet and testing the one you have been using, is good to do. Try turning it Off, for over 2 hours. Also, look near where the power cord goes into the treadmill's body, for a small switch that may be popped out - with the treadmill turned Off, press that switch back in to reset it. Then try turning On the treadmill again and see whether the small switch pops out again. What maker and model # ***** ***** treadmill? How old is it?
