Hi I have a gold series harrier elliptical which I haven't used since brand new in 2010 as after purchase I found out I was pregnant. I have just set it up and it is coming up with an error 1 on the screen. I have read the manual which states what the error is but it doesn't say how to correct it? Any suggestions?
Optional Information: Make: Goldseries Model: Harrier elliptical 2010 Already Tried: Turning on and off re setting time setting and trying different workouts just keeps going to error 1 as soon as you set it to a workout
I can't find the manual on this unit. What does your manual say the error is?
I think it would be the second one - Power on state as I turn it on set the time and then go into workouts nd choose one and as soon as I select the workout it loses all data and just displays E1 and I can't press any button to remove this.
E1 (Error 1):
Normal State: During workout, when the monitor did not get the count signal from the gear motor for more that 4 seconds check successive 3 times then the LCD will show E1.
Power on state: The gear motor will return to zero automatically, when the signal of motor cannot be detected for more than 4 seconds then the gear motor's driver will be cut of immediately and how the E1 on the LCD display. All other digital and function are blank, and the output signals are cut off.

Remove the plastic shields and locate the tension motor. You can test the motor, by using a 9 volt battery - attach a wire to positve and negative side then touch the yellow and blue wires of the motor- let it run til it stops and then switch the wires around and let it run the other way. If it works both ways the motor is good. Then test the harness for continuity from the console to the motor. You will need to use a volt meter to check the continuity. If the wires check ok you will need to check the voltage being supplied by the console through the blue and yellow wires when the tension buttons are pressed - it should be approx 6 vdc. If there is no voltage the console is defective and will need replaced.
