I have a Proform ze5 and the console display is dim when you are on it exercising, if you are off of it and look at the display screen it is normal???? Also I am unable to use any other programs on the console other than the manual mode. When I push the other program buttons nothing happens? Any suggestions?
Optional Information: Make: Proform Model: ZE5 Already Tried: WE reset the reed, magnet.
If it is just the angle at which you are looking at it there isn't much we can do. If it is a power issue try testing the power supply to see what voltage it is (should be 6vdc) or if you are using batteries change them. If the voltages on the batteries or power supply is a solid 6vdc and it is still dimming the console will need replaced. If the power supply is less than 6vdc replace it. Sears sells a Power Supply as item #14730, it is equivalent toIcons Part # XXXXX Either of these power supplies is acceptable.
What about the issue with the console only using the manual mode and when I push the other programs the console does not respond? This elliptical has many programs that are to be available but when I push the buttons nothing happens. If it is a console problem can just those be replaced? and if so, what do they run? I purchased this machine in 2010 for $800 at Dick's sporting goods. Please help!
Unfortunately the programs are integrated into the console via the eeprom (computer chip) and that part is not available other than with a new console. I purchase consoles on ebay for a decent price all the time, so that may be an option for you rather than spending a lot throught the manufacturer. It is possible the button overlay is bad and that could be another reason the programs won't work. Unfortunately this would still require replacing the console. The factory won't sell internal console parts. Sorry for the bad news!
