my golds gym stide trainer 410 console will not turn on by moving the pedals is it the reed switch

Yes it is most likely. You can test the reed switch to see if it opens and closes when a magnet goes by using a multi-meter and placing the leads on each wire then passing a magnet by the reed switch. If it gives a reading or the needle moves it is good (which means the console is the issue) or if it doesn't give a reading or the needle doesn't move then the reed switch is bad.Make sure the magnet is still in the flywheel to pass by. I usually find the magnet has fallen out and is stuck to the frame, therefore the reed switch won't activate the console.
