My husband just finished assembling the Xterra SB4.5r recumbent bike and everything worked great and we heard no sound when pedaling. The problem started when I found some opening between the two main large plastic covers that hold the wheels inside. I pointed it out to my husband and he tightened several of the screws on the side to close the openings. Right after that, we pedaled again and all of a sudden a squeaky and bumpy and clickety sound started. In shock, he unscrewed the sides back to the previous state and tried pedaling again, but the sound is still there.What should we do?
I would either return it or contact the manufacturer and they will send someone to look at it for yoy.
