I just bought a DP Fit for Life treadmill (Transport 8938)

Resolved Question:

I just bought a DP Fit for Life treadmill (Transport 8938) from an ad in our local newspaper.
It seems in fairly good condition except for one problem. The bar on the side that regulates the speed is supposed to go from 1.4 to 5.0 mph. I cannot get it to go any lower than 2.4. I hope to work up to that speed but am not able to start out that fast.
Is there any way to fix the speed bar? Thanks for your help.

Is it that your speed will not go down or the actual bar will not slide?

Good is the actual bar. It will not slide down any further than the 2.4 speed, and if I push it down another inch or so it comes right back up when I let go of it.

I will see if I can find info on it and get back with you.

Here are the only slide potentiometers I have found that may be able to replace yours. Unfortunately several years back DP went out of business and there are very limited parts available. Your only other resource possibly for parts would be if you could find a used machine or console on ebay.

What is clicking yes going to cost me? Is it just the amount I agreed to at the beginning or more?
I've never used this site before. Thanks.
