Customer Question

I'm looking to price and date my father and grandfather's rifles and shotguns. They're all 40 years old and up, and in pristine shape. I've listed the make / serial # XXXXX gauge / type / model / notes in that order. This is what I've got: Browning / 4S 25XXX / 16 ga / Auto Loading / Auto 5 Lightweight / "Sweet Sixteen", Made in Japan Browning / 353XXX / 16 / Auto Loading / 867 / "Sweet Sixteen", Made in Belgium Made in Czech. Republic / 16XXX / 8575 / Bolt / 48 / Ceskoslovenska Zbrojovka, Brno Made in Czech. Republic / 22XXX / 6.5 x 57 Ithaca / 439XXX / 20 ga / Pump / 37 / Featherlight, 2 3/4 Chamber Krutt & Lautstahid / No Serial # XXXXX Engraved Mossberg / No Serial # XXXXX . 22 / Magnum / 640K / Chuckster Mossberg / No Serial # XXXXX . 22 / Bolt / 142K / SLR Remington / 285XXX / 30-06 / Auto Loading / 742 Remington / 331XXX / . 300 / 721 / H&H Mag Ruger / 231-71XXX / . 22 LR / Lever / 10-22 / Carbine Ruger / 240-62XXX / . 22 LR / Carbine / 10-22 / Savage / 194XXX / 30-30 / Bolt / 840 / Savage / 317XXX / . 303 / Lever / 99 / Savage / 754XXX / 300 / Lever / 99 / Winchester / F72XXX / . 22 / Magnum / 9422M / Winchester / 512XXX / 30-06 / Bolt / 54 / Nickel steel / Winchester / 7XX / 40 - 12 ga / Auto Shotgun / 40 / Winchester / 196XXX / 3040 / Lever / 1895

I have a total of 22 guns listed. At $59 per session that would be over $400 to answer my question. Thanks for your response but I will have to pass.

Al these values assume 98% condition as you said. if condition is less the values change considerably. Also these are retail value not what you would get from a dealer

1-Browning / 4S 25XXX / 16 ga / Auto Loading / Auto 5 Lightweight / "Sweet Sixteen", Made in Japan Browning $1075

2-353XXX / 16 / Auto Loading / 867 / "Sweet Sixteen", Made in Belgium Made $950 plain barrel $1300 solid rib barrel $1650 Vented Rib Barrel add 20% for front safety add 20% for 2-9/16" chamber

3-Made in Czech. Republic / 16XXX / 8575 / Bolt / 48 / cant value need a caliber and there is no model 48. There is a Yugo model 48 mauser

4-Brno Made in Czech. Republic / 22XXX / 6.5 x 57 Too litte information. #390-$700 depending on grade assuming it is a model 550

5-Ithaca / 439XXX / 20 ga / Pump / 37 / Featherlight $340 accepted value I have seen them go for $500 plus at gun shows

6-2 3/4 Chamber Krutt & Lautstahid / No Serial # I am unfamiliar with this MFG I would need allot more information on the gun

7-Engraved Mossberg / No Serial # XXXXX . 22 / Magnum / 640K / Chuckster $250 for the gun, Mossberg never sold an "engraved" 640K. engraving is custom and only adds value to some who likes the engraving

8-Mossberg / No Serial # XXXXX . 22 / Bolt / 142K / $200

9-Remington / 285XXX / 30-06 / Auto Loading /742 $290-$6700 depending on grade. yours is most likely a 742 Woodsmaster valued at $290

10-Remington / 331XXX / . 300 / 721 $700-750 depending on grade

11- Ruger / 231-71XXX / . 22 LR / Lever / $325 model on this is 96/22 not 10/22

12- Ruger / 240-62XXX / . 22 LR / Carbine / 10-22 $150

13-Savage / 194XXX / 30-30 / Bolt / 840 $300

14-Savage / 317XXX / . 303 / Lever / 99 / $625-$5500 depending on letter designation if there is no letter and the action has "1899" stamped it is $1100 if it is just a 99 with no letter $850 Need more info

15-Savage / 754XXX / 300 / Lever / 99 / same as above

16-Winchester / F72XXX / . 22 / Magnum / 9422M $350-1200 depending on grade

17-Winchester / 512XXX / 30-06 / Bolt / 54 $1000-2650 depending on grade

18-Winchester / 7XX / 40 - 12 ga / Auto Shotgun $675

19-Auto Shotgun / 40 / Winchester $675

20-Winchester / 196XXX / 3040 / Lever / 1895 $4900-$11500 depending on configuration if in 95% condition. NRA has never seen a 98% Your is most likely 70% or less if 70% then value is $3250-$7500 again depending on configuration.

I only counted 20 guns. normally in my shop I charge $10 per gun for appraisal so the $35 is super low. would appreciate a bonus.

Thank you very much for taking the time to answer my question. I truly appreciate it. If I was in a better financial situation where I didn't have to consider selling the very things that my grandfather and father loved so much, I would be happy to add on a bonus for you. Could you do me a favor and send me your shop information. I will spread the word around on your professionalism and courteousness. Thank you again.
