Where can I buy a Browning 1918 Automatic rifle , and what permits are needed, and how do I get the permits
Hello. I would like to try to help you with this question.I looked on several sites and did find one for sale here:http://www.autoweapons.com/products/products.htmlThey did not list a price on their site, but indicate that you can email for a price quote. (The gun is the 19th one listed when I posted this -- you can search for "8-3629A 1918 WINCHESTER MANUFACTURED BROWNING AUTOMATIC RIFLE" to find it). If you are looking locally, you need to see if you have any Class 3 dealers in your area and check with them to see what they have in stock. As to the permits, you need to make an Application for Tax Paid Transfer and Registration of Firearm to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Here is a link to the form that you need to submit. Instructions are included with it. This application has to be made and approved before any transfer of the firearm takes place.http://www.atf.gov/forms/download/atf-f-5320-4.pdfYou will also need to check with your local law enforcement / state's attorney to find out what local procedures must be done to make sure that you are legal in the state where you reside. The BAFTE form only covers the Federal portion of the paperwork. Be aware, however, that there are some states that absolutely prohibit owning Class 3 weapons in spite of the fact that you can legally register one from a Federal perspective. I would urge you to check with local authorities prior to instigating the Federal paperwork to make sure there are going to be no impediments to your buying this weapon.I hope this helped answer you question. Please feel free to reply if you need any additional information. Otherwise, I would appreciate your rating my reply so that I can get credit for it.
