Thank you for using Just Answer!

Based on those serial numbers, your guns were made in 1917, 1917, and 1924, respectively, making your guns pre-1940 non-antique.

The Winchester Model 1894 was the most successful rifle that Winchester ever made and is probably the most popular rifle period. It was based on a John M. Browning patent and was the first rifle that Winchester made for the then new smokeless powder cartridges. It was chambered for the .32-40, .38-55, .25-35 Winchester, .30-30 Winchester (.30 WCF), and the .32 Winchester Special. The gun was introduced in 1894 and is still produced today! Over 5 million model 1894s have been made.

The Model 1894 was available in 4 basic configurations: Sporting Rifle, Fancy Sporting Rifle, Trapper's Carbine, and Saddle Ring Carbine.

Retail values for the Sporting Rifle configuration, which has either 24 or 26 inch barrel (if your gun is a takedown version, then add 25% to the values below or, if your gun is chambered in a caliber OTHER than either .30-30 or .32 Win Special, add 50%):

Excellent: $4,410-$4,980
Very Good: $2,820-$3,540
Good: $1,560-$2,220
Fair: $660-$1,170
Poor: $570

If your gun has a fancy pistol grip that is checkered, then you have the Deluxe version with these retail values:

Excellent: $15,000
Very Good: $11,400-$13,200
Good: $9,000-$9,600
Fair: $2,700-$7,200
Poor: $1,500

If your gun has a 14, 15, or 16 inch barrel, you have the Trapper's Carbine version with these retail values (if your gun is one with a 14 or 15 inch barrel, be sure to check local and federal laws as to the possession of that gun):

Excellent: $8,520
Very Good: $6,000-$7,380
Good: $4,260-$5,100
Fair: $1,620-$3,420
Poor: $1,200

If your gun has a saddle ring and has a 20 inch round barrel, you have the Saddle Ring Carbine with these retail values (if your gun is chambered in other than .30-30 Win. or .32 Special, then add another 40%):

Excellent: $3,360
Very Good: $2,250-$2,820
Good: $1,290-$1,740
Fair: $600-$1,110
Poor: $540

For a fee you can have the Cody Firearms Museum provide a letter documenting your gun. For more information on that option, go to:
