I want to sell an ERMA 22LR handgun, very good - almost new condition; still in original box with take-down instructions included. Front sight is missing and has scratch in track of safety lever. This handgun is copied on German Luger pistol. What is value of this pistol and what is a reasonable sales price?
Already Tried: Checked back copies of Shooters Bible, last appraisal I saw was 8-10 years ago in Shooters Bible.
Hi,
The Erma KGP Series were manufactured to resemble the Luger Pistols. There are a few versions chambered for the 22 rimfire, 32 ACP and 380 ACP. They were produced from 1964 to 1986. The value for the 22 caliber gun are:
excellent-$300, very good-$200, good-$150, fair-$100. There are not any values given for a new in the box gun, but I would add 25% to the excellent value.
There is also a 22 caliber version of the Navy Luger with a 11.75" barrel. The value for a gun in excellent condition is $900.
I would use one of the auction sites to sell it and use a start price of $300 with a $375 reserve price. You control the complete auction including the amount charged for shipping and there is no one coming to your house to look at it. It is a much safer way to sell your gun.
I hope this helps you,
Tom
