Hi,

The S&W Model 29 was introduced in 1956. It is a 6 shot, double action revolver with either a blued or nickel plated finish. All target options were added to the Model 29 as standard. It is considered the best revolver made by S&W. Barrels lengths are 4", 5", 6.5", or 8 3/8". The current values are:

excellent-$1000, very good-$750, good-$450, fair-$300, poor-$150.

I hope this helps you,

Tom

Hi,

The current Blue Book list the 10 5/8" barreled gun as the Model 29 Silhouette and the value of a gun in 100% condition at $750. The Standard Catalog of Firearms is where the above values are from and they are closer to what the Model 29 will sell for. The extremely high prices on the auction sites do not have any bids on them and usually do not sell. 2 out of 3 Model 29-3's with estimated prices of $900 to $1500 did not sell at Rock Islands last auction.

$800 to $1000 is a fair price and will sell the gun.

Tom
