Customer Question

I have an old 22 caliber rifle. It is at least 60 years old. It is marked D.P.P. (might be D.R.P.) Germany 5.4mm. Any idea of who the manufacturer was and if they are still in business?

Hi,

Is your rifle a bolt action or semi-auto? Is it a single shot? What is the barrel length?

Hi Tom,

Its a bolt action, single shot. The barrel length is 22 7/8 inches.

Hi Tom,

The stock on mine extends just past the chamber, rather than nearly all the way along the barrel as shown in the picture you sent.

It does have fittings for a sling, although the sling is missing and I don't recall ever seeing a sling on it.

There are markings on the underside of the barrel similar to what you sent. The difference is there is no crown over a U. Just a crown over a B.

The bolt is different from the one in your picture. Mine has a straight bolt that pulls back to open the chamber and the whole bolt lifts up to open. I'm attaching three photos (sorry, not the best quality).

Hi,

Can you get some pictures close-up? I can not see any detail at all.

D R P are the initals of one of the subcontractors that made military traing rifles prior to WWII. I have a list of the names someplace on my computer, it may take a while to find them.

Hi Tom,

I'm leaving on vacation for 2 weeks. Probably won't get you better pictures until I get back.

Thanks,

Allen
