Good afternoon,

Can you tell me the caliber, barrel length, if it has a saddle ring, or any fancy wood work, and if it is a takedown version?

Customer replied 361 days and 19 hours ago.

44 caliber, 193/8" barrel, it has a round saddle ring. No fancy woodwork looks like the stock was redone. I don't know what takedown means. It is a lever action.

Ok, takedown means can it be taken apart for storage...

I'm not sure that I understand your measurement of 193/8 "....Can you just measure the barrel itself in inches? It should be 20, or 24....a number like that.

Customer replied 361 days and 19 hours ago.

19 3/8" not a takedown

Ok, very good.

You have a Winchester model 1892 carbine, made in 1917. The carbine had a 20 inch barrel, saddle ring, and 2 barrel bands.

For your Winchester, the following current Blue Book values apply. Retail prices may be 20% higher:

New in box/perfect --100% condition - $ N/A

Mint condition --------98% condition - $ N/A

Excellent condition -- 95% condition - $5400

Very Good+ condition -- 90% condition- $ 4475

Very Good condition ------ 80% condition - $3450

Good+ condition ------------70% condition - $2650

Good condition --------------60% condition - $2175

Less than good - $750 to $1575

.

Add 50% to the value for the .44-40 caliber

My dad says it's the 44-40. How do I tell?

The caliber should be marked on it.

Customer replied 361 days and 18 hours ago.

Thanks, XXXXX XXXXX says. 44 wcf. so I guess it's only a 44
