Thank you for using Just Answer!

You said the serial number is "No455xx" - did you mean just "455xx"?

Based on the serial number you provided, your gun was made by Colt in 1913.

Assuming your gun has the original finish, matching part numbers, and has not been reworked at an arsenal, the retail values for a 1911 manufactured from 1913 to 1915 are as follows:

Excellent: $5,400-$6,000
Very Good: $4,200-$4,800
Good: $1,800-$2,400

The slide should be marked "Model of 1911 U.S. Army" and should be a blued finish. If the finish is parkerized, or the part numbers don't match, then it has been reworked at an arsenal and that affects the value. Look for arsenal markings on the gun's frame near the trigger guard: AA, SA, or RIA.

Retail pricing for a 1911 made by Colt if reworked at an arsenal:

Excellent: $1,260-$1,680
Very Good: $925-$1,140
Good: $595-$750

NOTES FOR REWORKED GUNS: If you have either the original box and DCM papers or your gun has the arsenal blue finish, add 15% (30% if you have both the box and papers and the arsenal blue finish). If there are mismatched parts, subtract 40%.

I hope this helps. If you are satisfied with my answer, please click the "accept" button. Thanks!
