VALUE AT RETAIL FOR A COLT POLICE POSITIVE-.32 POLICE CTG.
Good morning,

Can you tell me the serial number please?
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
320101
That serial number range doesnt match for the regular Police Positive.

Is it a Police Positive Special?
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
The left side of the barrel says "POLICE POSITIVE-32 POLICE CTG". THE FIRST TWO WORDS ARE STACKED ABOVE EACH OTHER AND THE "P" FOR THE BEGININGING OF EACH WORD IS THE SAME "P." IT'S TWO LINES TALL.
S/N INSIDE THE REVOLVING CYLINDER ABOVE THE HINGE IS 320101. THEN THERE IS AN X BELOW THAT NUMBER. I HOPE THAT HELPS.
THANKS, HUNT
Ok...what you have is actually a Police Positive Special (first issue). The first issue guns didnt have "special" on them. They were made from 1907-1927. Your serial number dates to 1925.

Below is the current Blue Book value:

POLICE POSITIVE SPECIAL (FIRST ISSUE)
- .32-20 WCF, .32 New Police, .38 New Police, or .38 Spl. cal., 4, 5, or 6 in. barrels, has a square butt and longer frame and cylinder to handle .38 Special and .32-20 WCF, fixed sights, frame longer to permit longer cylinder, denoted by 1905 last patent date on top of barrel, longer frame and smooth top strap, rubber grips. Mfg. 1907-27.
