The only thing listed under U.S. Arms is the 44 that has the 2 firing pins for rim fire and center fire. The barrel is marked "United States Arms Company-New York".
There is also a United States Fire Arms Mfg. from Hartford Conn. that has many models of SA revolvers, but doesn't list an Abilene Model.
I searched all of the auction sites and came up with one in 44 cal. for $500.
If the 45 is rare compared to the 44 mag, I would add at least 25%. I will keep searching, but the Blue Book and Standard Catalog of Firearms do not list it.
I have 2 guns to put back together and then I will try another search on a different server.
When I switch from AOL to Comcast, it brings up different results. I will post what I find around dinner time.
I hope you are ready for a lot of reading. I found the complete history of the company and the manufacture of their guns. There are 41 pages of information on them, Have fun!
