This is about Behcet Disease and government insurance coverage in California. My dad just immigrated to the US (green card), residing in California, living with me so I'm taking care of his living expenses. He has Behcet which is destroying his immune system. He's not physically disabled. But the main issue is that the disease viciously and suddenly attacks him to the point that he needs to be hospitalized for at least a week, even though when he's overseas, he's constantly on medication to help suppress it. BotXXXXX XXXXXne is, his condition requires constant medication and hospitalization and if it stops, he'd die or become permanently disabled. Is there any government program that he'd be qualified for (i.e. Medicare, Medi-Cal, etc.)? He's fresh off the boat that he didn't get to work in the US or pay taxes.
