Customer Question

How do I disown a child to stop paying support and have no legal rights of that child?

Hello

This is Samuel and I will discuss this and provide you information in this regard.

Unfortunately, if there is no one to Adopt the child and take over the financial responsibility for the minor child, while the parent can file for a voluntary relinquishment, it is not something a court would likely grant.

If the parent is the Father and on the birth certificate, then the courts are going to hold them financially responsible. When you say you have No Legal Rights to the child, what does that mean, please?

Expert:  Samuel II replied 1 year ago.

How is it that you have been ordered to pay the child support?

How long has this been going on? How old is the child?
