My ex wife collects social security disability and she wants

Customer Question

Thank you for your question. I look forward to working with you to provide you the information you are seeking for educational purposes only.

Social security disability is not income based benefit, it is a benefit based on her disability. IF she is seeking part of your retirement as a spousal entitlement in a divorce, that would not have any impact on her SS Disability. If she were receiving SS Supplemental Insurance, then the collection of your retirement would impact those benefits, since those are income based.
