Customer Question

My fiancé and I have been together for 20 yrs., so we have a domestic partnership. He has been disabled since 2002, and has only been getting disability since 2009. I heard that if we were to get married, his disability payments would be stopped or greatly
reduced. Is this true? How can we prevent this from happening, if we wanted to get married?

The answer depends on what kind of disability benefits he is receiving.. Is it SSI? Or social security disability? Or some other disability program?
