Good Afternoon:I will try to answer question.Q: I am hoping to retire this coming year how will this affect my widow benefits? I will get 2,120.05 a month I get 1,771.00 from widow benefits.A: Unfortunately, there is no way to double dip on the social security. I am assuming the $2,210.05 per month is retirement through SS, not a private policy benefit. What will happen if my assumption is correct, is that you will receive only your regular ss of $2,210.05 per month and no longer receive widow benefit. If you have any children under 18 who is a child of decedent they would continue to receive their derivative benefit. I hope this was helpful. Good luck.
