I want to know about an Oregon medical pot card. I am a veteran, with a VA pension, medical benefits at VA, I qualify for the ommp, but pot is a federal offense. I guess my question is would I be in danger of losing any federal benefits if I have the ommp card?
Hi, My name is Philip. I am an attorney with over 16 years experience. Hopefully I can help you with your legal question.

The OMMP card, and of itself will have no impact on your benefits. At all.

The fact you you the card will not change your benefit status.

More important, while the current federal law prohibits marijuana use, the VA policy on this matter (which you can see here http://www.va.gov/vhapublications/viewpublication.asp?pub_id=2362) allows veterans to participate in state medical marijuana programs.
