I am divorced and pay some money for Child support as the court

This answer was rated:

I am divorced and pay some money for Child support as the court order.
Now I lost my job and I am unable to pay the money.
Is it against the court order if I don't pay the money?

Erin M. JD :

Hello! I will be assisting you in this matter! The short answer is that, if you are ordered to pay support and do not do so, whatever the reason, you are in violation of the court order. You may be able to request a modification of the amount if you are unable to pay the amount currently ordered.

FOR WHOM TO REQUEST A MODIFICATION OF THE AMOUNT IF I NEED.

You will file a petition to modify the support with the court of continuing jurisdiction, the one the order cane from.
