ive been served with a protective order for a girlfriend/boyfriend dispute that occured two weeks ago. she just filed for the order yesterday...after 2 weeks of the alleged incident and a week after any contact..any advice? do i need a lawyer? there are clearly lies in her sworn statement..
Yes, I would advise attending the hearing with an attorney. This is not the time to walk into the courtroom alone.

If you have any witnesses, your lawyer can get a sworn statement from them to offer as evidence in court.

For your attorney, prepare a timeline of what happened, when you last spoke to her, etc.
