Does the states of Florida and Texas have permanent alimony

This answer was rated:

Does the states of Florida and Texas have permanent alimony laws as long as the receiver remains single?
Thank you for your question.

Yes, both states do still have lifetime permanent spousal support (alimony) which can be awarded to a spouse in a divorce. Florida actually came close recently to eliminating it, but the bill was vetoed by the governor.
