Does a spouse of a federal inmate have to go through an approval process in order to get visitation privileges?
All visitors other than Counsel of record are required to go through a process to gain visitation privileges, although a spouse would almost automatically be granted such privileges, see
http://www.bop.gov/inmate_locator/who.jsp
