how can a caseworker take all of your inheritance away and you anly have 3 days to defend yourself that is if thay tell you what is going on
31 years of family law litigation. Understanding of your concerns, and a good legal knowledge base. No, there is no ability for a case worker to take away your inheritance. This person could possess no legal documents that entitle her to your inheritance. I suggest you get an attorney asap, or if you cannot afford one, this sounds like a case that a local legal aid office would help you with. And 3 days for a hearing is not a sufficient time period for you to prepare for it, and due process requires reasonable notice, and an opportunity to be heard. Please seek an attorney asap, as the people you have contacted cannot, and will not help you. Good Luck! Steve ps If there is such a hearing in three days, then you need to continue it when you go to court to give you time to prepare.
