State/Country relating to question: New York
I just found out about this. I am going to try to find a Great Attorney.
Thank you for posting your question to JA/Pearl. Legal questions often take time for research or I may be offline so please be patient, I will reply.I understand that you have become attached to the child. However, you have no legal rights since you are not a blood relative and you are not married to the mother. Since you are a fit person to leave the child in the care and control of, it is unlikely that a court is going to do anything and I don't see that you need an attorney. In the event that the father does file, then the mother is the one that will need an attorney to file an answer to the petition. In most cases the father will not file since anything since any competent attorney will tell him that it is a waste of money. Of course, if you get married to the mother, then that changes everything.
Thank You so much. Can I ask for you Personally down the road if I need to?
Yes you can, just put "for LWPAT" in the subject line. Please do not forget to rate my answer so I get credit from JA for my time. If you cannot see the rating buttons, let me know.

I want to make sure you got paid. How do I do that.
JA has paid me when you gave me the excellent rating so thank you very much.
I am not a computer genius. Do they take money off my credit card i gave them or do they pay you direct. Because I want to make sure I didnt cheat you.
JA takes the money from your credit card and then they apply my share to my account. No worries. Please do not reply to this since it locks the system and forces me to reply.
