If you are named the remander man in a life estate, what rights do you have? Can you sell your interest? Can you make decisions about the life estate?
Optional Information: State/Country relating to question: Texas
Hi - my name is XXXXX XXXXX X'X a Family Law litigation attorney here to assist you.As the remainderman, you don't own anything until the life estate expires. Instead, your right is simply to inherit whenever the estate ends. Thus, you can't sell what you don't own. Also, you don't have a right to make any decisions regarding the life estate. Instead, you must wait until you receive title to the property before you can legally act.
