currently involved in a bankruptcy and wife has left home with no way of me contacting her. considering a separation agreement but cant locate her. what are some steps i can take for a quicker divorce
Good morning,I'm sorry to hear of your dilemma. You ask about a quicker divorce. In VA, you can't sue for abandonment for a year, and absent other cause or a separation agreement, you cant sue for divorce for a year. You are stuck. If you just want the divorce, and you want it sooner than later, consider moving to Nevada for a short while. You can establish residency and file for a divorce in Nevada after just 6 weeks. The divorce will take only a couple of months to conclude. Most other states have a six month residency period before you can file and even longer periods of time between filing and the decree. Nevada is your best bet.I wish you the best in 2012.Because I help people here, like you, for a living---this is not a hobby for me, and I sincerely XXXXX XXXXX abiding by the honor system as regards XXXXX XXXXX I wish you and your family the best in your respective futures. Would you be so kind as to Accept my Answer so that I may be compensated for assisting you? Bonuses for greatly informative and helpful answers are very much appreciated. Thanks Again, Doug
