This answer was rated:

How do I obtain a court order in the u.s. courts? Can I do this on
my own? This is to get a court order for one of the banks to release
information on a secret marital asset my x husband had; which was
all of our money.
Betsy

Floridalegalanswer :

Generally, you must file a Petition with the U.S. Court that has jurisdiction.

Floridalegalanswer :

In addition to filing the Petition, you must have your ex-husband "served" with the Petition. Usually this is done by the Sheriff or a private process server.

Floridalegalanswer :

Generally, the jurisdiction would be the same Court that dissolved the marriage (the Court that entered the Divorce) and in the Petition or Motion you would ask the Court to re-open and re-examine the case based on the Fraud or Misrepresentation for not disclosing the secret marital asset.
