If there is a hearing scheduled for a an order of protection

This answer was rated:

If there is a hearing scheduled for a an order of protection against me what can I do to have the hearing date changed to a sooner date?

Thanks for your question.Write the judge and ask for an expedited setting.Advise them that you are contesting the Order and want an earlier opportunity to tell you side here.Argue that delay harms you and that any consideration the judge can give would be greatly appreciated, etc. It's worth a try here .Make sure you reference the case number.Copy the other side.

Thank You,

What form or format should the letter to the judge follow?
Honorable Bob Smith
123rd Judicial District
Chicago, Illinois

Re: Your case name and number

Dear Judge Smith,

I am asking for an expedited hearing in the above referenced case based on the fact that ..........Delay here harms me in my ability to resume my life and for the court to hear my side of this matter .Equity requires it be heard sooner.
