is there any obligation to stepchildren who have been raised since birth by stepfather, and are using his last name. there is no support from biological father. the children have not been adopted but know no other father. This is in the state of california

There is no legal obligation of support for a step father if there has been no adoption and there is no presumption of paternity based on the child being born during the marriage or by signing an acknowledgment of paternity when the child is born.
