I am party to a post-divorce case in which the Plaintiff continually requests adjournment of the hearing for medical reasons. Can I, as the Defendent, protest adjournment and request the hearing date not be postponed so the matter at hand can be resolved?
Hello,

Yes, you can object to the postponing of the proceeding. You can assert that the attorney for the plaintiff can attend the hearing if the plaintiff is unavailable. You can also ask the court, in the alterntive, that the matter be dismissed.
