Can I be charged with a felony if I knew my boyfriend who lived

YOUR QUESTION:
Can I be charged with a felony if I knew my boyfriend who lived with me had a bench warrant for failing to pay child support?

ANSWER:

Under Minnesota law, a person may be held criminally liable for a crime comitted by another person --- AIDING AND ABETTING --- if you intentionally aid, advise, hire, counsel, or conspire with or otherwise cause another person to commit a crime.

See Minn. Stat. § 609.05, Subdivision 1.

Given the facts you are presenting here, you have not committed a felony offense simply by having lived with a boyfriend who you knew had a bench warrant for failing to pay child support.

This is not something over which you should lose any sleep.
