Any Florida civil action can be dismissed for lack of prosecution if there has been no pleading or other activity in the case for a period of 10 months prior to the date of the motion to dismiss (Rule of Civil Procedure 1.420(e)).

There is no other limit to how long a case can take, as far as I'm awre.
