Resolved Question:

Is a wife in Virginia responsible for the debt on husbands personal credit cards if he was to die or anyother reason unable to pay>

If the wife is a cosigner on the card, she would be liable for any expenses incurred. If the card is only in the husband's name, the wife cannot be held liable. However, creditors can go after joint assets, including joint bank accounts in order to collect on such debts. You would need to keep your property and finances separate from his in order to protect yourself.

I hope this helps!
