I see a large, ring in my vision and I cannot find anything

Customer Question

I see a large, gray ring in my vision and I cannot find anything on the internet to explain it. Let me emphasis it is large, like the halo of my eye itself. It is not black, but gray. Pictures of glaucoma is black and from the edges of vision. Age-related macular degeneration pictures are a solid circle, not a ring. Retinal detachment is like a black curtain, pictures say. The closest thing I have seen is a Weiss ring floater, but mine is very large. Retinopathy is represented as a bunch of black floaters. Which mine is not. Please give me some advice besides go see a doctor.

do you have any medical issues?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Not that I know of.
Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 1 month ago.

The most common cause of this and most likely problem here is a retinal detachment.

A large one that is partially detached can look like this

it is pretty much a medical emergency

I would get in with an ophtho first thing in the AM at the latest.

I wanted to talk to an eye doctor. Are you an eye doctor?
Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 1 month ago.

I am an internist.

We deal with comprehensive medical issues including the eye.

As far as I can see, there are no eye doctors online right now.
