Ask an Eye Doctor and Get an Answer ASAP
Hi Gilda. There are several different types of conjuncivitis...viral, allergic, chemical, bacterial, granulomatous, etc.
It is important to have your eyes examined so the type of conjunctivitis can be determined and you can get on the right medication. In the meantime, keep your hands clean and try flushing the eyes a couple times per day with warm water to remove any excess mucous or discharge. In addition, there are allergy drops available over the counter (eg. opcon-A, , zaditor, naphcon) that can help with itch and redness.
