Hello, Thank you for the question.I am Dr.A.S.Desai and I look forward to assisting you .
Are you available for chat now?
No, going outdoors in bright sunlight after a dilated eye exam does not cause any damage to the eyes but it can definitely cause severe discomfort or light sensitivity( due to excessive entry of light rays).
It is alright to drive after 6-8 hours or once the pupil begins to constrict ( atleast four hours later).
By wearing sunglasses the light sensitivity or glare effect is reduced. It is beneficial rather than essential.
Does that answer all your questions?
Please let me know if you have any more queries.
